Green Power Hike is the annual large-scale charitable fund-raising walkathon for Green Power. It is held along the Hong Kong Trail every year. The 50-km Hong Kong Trail starts from The Peak, spanning from west to east, running through the entire Hong Kong Island. Through this event, we hope to encourage more people to explore our mother nature, and to better appreciate the abundant biological resources of Hong Kong.
Ever since 1994, Green Power Hike has become one of the largest and most popular charitable hiking activities in Hong Kong. In the past 23 years, over 50,000 participants have joined this green cause, and have raised more than 78 million Hong Kong dollars. Donations are used for environmental education and conservation, including a wide range of environmental investigation and monitoring programs, as well as promotion of green education in secondary schools, primary schools, and kindergartens. We hope to cultivate our next generations to learn to protect, appreciate and respect the nature.
